Q. What percentage of Christians give NOTHING – not even $5.00?

Q. What percentage of evangelical Christians tithe?

Q. How much do committed American Christians earn each year?

Q. If American Christians – the committed kind – tithed their net earnings – after taxes, how much more money would go to ministry and missions?

The answers to these questions is found in a new report.

Ready for the answers?

Q. What percentage of Christians give NOTHING – not even $5.00?

A. One out of four – 25% of American Protestants give zip, nada, zero.

I am well aware of financial fears. I am very good friends with “not enough.”

No matter what else may be true – EVERYBODY CAN GIVE SOMETHING!

Q. What percentage of evangelical Christians tithe?

A. 27%.

Q. How much do committed American Christians earn each year?

A. $2.5 trillion a year! That means committed American Christians could be admitted to the G7, the group of the world’s seven largest economies.

Q. If American Christians – the committed kind – tithed, how much more money would go to ministry and missions?

A. $85 billion!

One more question –

Q. If all American Christians tithed, what could be done with the money?

A. $10 billion would sponsor 20 million children for a year.

Just $330 million would sponsor 150,000 indigenous missionaries in countries closed to religious workers.

$2.2 billion would triple the current funding of Bible translation, printing, and distribution.

$600 million would be enough to start eight Christian colleges in Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia.

These figures only begin to spend that extra cash. What Christians could do—if they managed their money in a way that gave priority to giving a portion away—is astounding.

So – the more important question – what will you give before the end of the year?

  1. WOW! what we could do with that 85 BILLION!

    WOAH ! STOP ! HAULT !

Look at what we have already!

“a non-profit foundation that studies philanthropy in the United States, in its 2008 report found 33.4% of estimated total giving, $103.32 billion, went to houses of worship and denominational organizations in 2007” – Cathy Lynn Grossman USA Today.

    103 BILLION ! ! ! (103,000,000,000) That’s a staggering 12 figures!

AND WE THINK THE CHURCH JUST NEEDS A LITTLE BIT MORE ?! I think we already have enough money to take care of those needs you listed above. Do you think another 85 billion will solve hunger in children, indigent missionaries, school, and printing?

What did our Lord say? – “Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.”

What do we have to show for 103 BILLION DOLLARS already!?
