Ruthe and I are celebrating our 35 anniversary by visiting our favorite place – Scotland.

I will preach twice, and we will visit the Isle of Skye, Inverness, the Borders, Edinburgh – and Ruthe’s favorite – castles, castles, castles.

Then, on to Birmingham, England – and London, Shakespeare country and more castles.

We will see our friends – Craig and Elise Sayle (pastor in Edinburgh) and Bubba and Rockie Lollar and Bob and Debby Bogart (missionaries in Birmingham, England)

Pray for God’s Spirit to once again move in these lands with so much great Christian history and so much need! According to one resident of brother in Edinburgh, there are more dogs than Christians in Edinburgh, and more Muslims than Methodists in England!

  1. Blessings from Birmingham. We can’t wait!

  2. Tell Craig, Elysie and the kids that we said hello and that we love him. And give them a hug from us! It’s been way too long since we’ve seen them! Have a great trip!

  3. I would love to go to Scotland someday, but it seems unlikely that I will make it. I suppose it’s only natural for me to want to go, with a surname like Wallace and a love of deep, soul-satisfying Reformed truth!

  4. Normally, we get a hodge-podge of pictures from your travels. I look forward to seeing all of them, except for the ones where you are donning a kilt or video of you attempting to play the bagpipes.

Happy 35th Anniversary to you and Ruthe!

  5. What a Blessing, 35 years. God is rejoicing over that commitment you have made to one another.
I will be praying for you.
(Spare us the picture of Sam in a kilt, though Ruthie would look lovely in plaid.)
    Happy 35th Anniversary.
