Me-Church – where it’s all about me!

June 18, 2007

Always – Never

June 18, 2007

I really appreciate the way Perry Noble puts this….

  • NEVER be satisfied with where we are!
  • ALWAYS be thankful for what God has done!
  • NEVER limit what God can do!
  • ALWAYS dream big…and take bold steps!
  • NEVER stop reaching people for Christ!
  • ALWAYS spend money on ministry!
  • NEVER let the critics and skeptics silence us!
  • ALWAYS be willing to make NOISE for Christ!
  • NEVER forget where we came from!
  • ALWAYS celebrate where we are going!
  • NEVER allow creativity to trump Scripture!
  • ALWAYS show the world how relevant the Gospel is!
  • NEVER lift up a personality!
  • ALWAYS lift up the name of Jesus

  • Gratitude and Hope

    June 18, 2007

Gratitude is about the past and present.
    Love is about the present.
Faith is about the present and future.

    Hope is about the future.

“For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.” Romans 8:23-24

    A word of gratitude –

*I’m grateful that God has provided me a place and people to serve Him

*I’m grateful that He has given me a team of elders who love God and love his people and are learning to love me.

*I’m grateful to be a part of a church that trusts its leadership.

*I’m grateful for the growing church staff who work very hard for the glory of God and good of His people.

*I’m grateful for the very supportive response by so many to the concept of a new church name.

*I’m grateful to see at least one person professing faith in Christ each week over the last month.

*I’m grateful for two consecutive overcast evenings, which permitted us to meet outside with church leaders for dessert and information last week.

*I’m grateful that each of my children called me on Father’s Day – yes, even from such distant places like Cabot, Ark and Beirut, Lebanon!

*I’m grateful to serve the God of a second chance!
